Tech help from someone who actually explains things.

Patient, in-home (or remote) tech support for everyday people. No jargon, no rushing, no fixing it without telling you what was wrong.

Former teacher Price confirmed before I start Free follow-up within a week

If it has a screen or a plug, I can probably help.

One person, one bundled rate. Bring me the thing that's been driving you up the wall.

New computer setup

Out of the box to "ready to use" — transferring files, setting up email, getting things the way you like them.

Wi-Fi & networking

Slow internet, dead zones, mystery devices — sorted out. Including mesh setups and guest networks.

Printers

The one device everyone hates. I'll get yours talking to your computer, your phone, and your patience.

Smart home

Alexa, Ring, Nest, cameras, smart bulbs. Set up properly the first time, with a written cheat sheet for later.

Phone & tablet help

iPhone, Android, iPad — backups, photos, accounts, that one app that won't open. Friendly, walked-through.

Tutoring & one-on-one

Sit-down sessions to actually learn the thing. Especially good for older clients who want a real teacher, not a manual.

General troubleshooting

"It used to work and now it doesn't." Bring it to me. If I can't fix it, I'll tell you who can — no charge.

"If you've ever felt embarrassed to ask the same question twice — you're exactly who I built this for."

Three steps. No surprises.

Most jobs are scheduled and finished within a few days. I confirm pricing before I start — never after.

1

Call or text

Tell me what's going on in plain language. I'll let you know if it's something I can help with and roughly what it'll take.

2

Visit or remote

I come to you, or we connect by screen-share if it's something we can fix without being in the room. You pick.

3

Fix & follow-up

I leave you with a working setup, a short written summary, and a free follow-up if the same thing comes back within a week.

Straightforward rates. Posted right here, where they belong.

I quote a price up front based on what you tell me. If a job turns out to be smaller than expected, I charge you less — not more.

Quick fix (remote)

One specific thing, screen-share. Password reset, printer hiccup, "why is this asking me to update again."

Steven Frazer, founder of My Tech Neighbor, at his desk in Stamford
House calls are kind of the whole point.

Hi — I'm Steven.

You know that feeling when someone "helps" with your computer and you somehow end up more confused than when you started? That's the opposite of what I do.

I spent years teaching high school biology, and the part of the job I was best at was sitting with someone who felt stuck and walking them through it until it clicked. My Tech Neighbor is the same idea, just with Wi-Fi routers and smart TVs instead of cell biology.

I'm based right here in Stamford. Call me when something's not working, and I'll come over and we'll figure it out together.

The things neighbors actually ask.

No question is too basic — that's the whole point. Here are the ones I hear most.

Do you come to my house, or is it remote?

Whichever you prefer. I make house calls throughout Stamford, Fairfield County, and Westchester County, or we can connect by screen-share if it's something we can fix without being in the same room. You pick.

What do you charge?

Rates are posted right on this page, up in Pricing: a quick remote fix is $75 flat, an in-home visit is $125 per hour, new computer setup is $199, Wi-Fi/mesh setup is $179, a smart doorbell or camera install is $149, tech tutoring is $99 per session (or a 5-pack for $449), and the Tech Neighbor monthly plan is $99 per month. The 15-minute phone consult is always free, and the price is confirmed before I start — never after.

Do you serve Westchester County?

Yes. I'm based in Stamford and serve all of Fairfield County, CT and Westchester County, NY. There's no trip charge within 10 miles of Stamford.

Can you teach me, not just fix it?

That's my favorite part. I spent years teaching high school, and tech tutoring is a core service — $99 for a one-on-one session on whatever you want to learn, in your home or remote. Even on repair visits, I explain what was wrong and leave you a short written summary so it sticks.

Why does Zoom stutter even when I'm plugged in with a cable?

Usually because the cable only covers the last few feet. If you're plugged into a mesh satellite (the little box in your office), that satellite still talks to the main router wirelessly — so your "wired" connection is riding a weak wireless hop behind the scenes.

In a FiOS house, the fix is often to use the coax TV wiring already in your walls (called MoCA) to give that satellite a true wired path back to the router. That's exactly the kind of thing I sort out on a Wi-Fi visit.

What if you can't fix it?

Then I'll tell you who can — no charge for figuring that out. I'm honest about scope: if a job needs an electrician or a manufacturer repair, you'll hear it from me straight, and you won't pay me to guess.

Tell me what's going on.

I'll get back to you within a day — usually same-day. No pressure, no commitment.
